Might unfortunately makes right. Not by virtue but by mere presence. History is written by the victors. And the powerful always win. Not the righteous, not the bold, not the courageous. It’s always the biggest, baddest of them all who carry the day. And morality ain’t in it. Iron will always defeat gold.
Hari Seldon may have predicted the fall of the Galactic Empire but his greatest achievement was not this. His greatest feat was working towards rejuvenating the Life of the decaying Empire. Most prophesies, my friends, are self-fulfilling. And writing is the best way to prophesize what is to come.
George Carlin once famously said about the American Dream that it was called like that because one had to be asleep to reach it. Same thing goes for Democracy. It is quickly turning from a clear reality into a figment of imagination. And boy, does one need to use their imagination to get the feel they live in a Democracy or what. As it happens, Tolerance is undermining Democracy. We are asked, forced, nay compelled to tolerate others but nobody else follows suit. Tolerance cuts both ways. But nobody else tolerates Us. How come?
Democracy is not the plaything of the few. It does not cater to the elites. And the People should not pay attention to those who don’t like democratic results. Democracy has not failed us. We may have failed democracy.
Gun bans are illegal because they target law abiding gun owners. If government wanted to reduce crime, they'd go after criminals. Instead, they choose to confiscate private property without compensation. You know who else used to do this? Communists. Alberta is a force for good in Canada. Alberta defeated the illegal gun grab of central government showing us all that people can speak truth to power. A true Alberta Miracle.
Drugs are good. Guns are bad. Unless they are government guns. Those are good. Life is Manichean. Things can be both good and evil. Banning something is never good. It ignores this simple fact of life to our own peril.
Anarchy is the lack of tyrannical government. It means freedom for all, all of the time. People are meant to be free to decide their lives, entirely by themselves.
