The World is Irony. First, they tell you to get rich. Right?! Then, you do. It’s hard, takes everything you go, but you do it. Right?! Then, they tell you to stop being so goddamn materialistic. Crazy, right?! Right?! And when you ask why, they tell you it’s for the sake of the planet. But do not fret, they tell you. Is the Triumph of Democracy a Distant Dream?
George Carlin once famously said about the American Dream that it was called like that because one had to be asleep to reach it. Same thing goes for Democracy. It is quickly turning from a clear reality into a figment of imagination. And boy, does one need to use their imagination to get the feel they live in a Democracy or what. As it happens, Tolerance is undermining Democracy. We are asked, forced, nay compelled to tolerate others but nobody else follows suit. Tolerance cuts both ways. But nobody else tolerates Us.
