A Not So Civil War

Wars are violent manifestations. Civil wars are a misnomer in that they are not civil. In fact they are everything but civil. America is headed down that way. Perhaps the world will too. Killing someone for having an opinion is telling all the moderates that the time for talk is over. Guess what happens next?

A Great Man

Charlie Kirk was a Great Man. He believed in God, family, and country. These tenets are the only anchors one needs to navigate Life's treacherous dark waters. Charlie Kirk was assassinated for being what we are not. He was murdered for the courage of his convictions. Our carelessness was complicit in his murder. Our apathy enabled the assassin. Honoring his Legacy is the only way to atone.

There Can Be Only One

Family is the most important thing. That is Your own family! Not the one you were born into. That is most likely a crapshoot. So, if you had to choose, it’d be hard one. Luckily for me, it was a no brainer. 20 years ago, I spent a whole two seconds to make up my mind. In the end, I left my grandmother and mother alone and I set out for the New World. I got my family, my dream home, and my domestic bliss. But my mom and grandma both died because of my choice.

The Pulse of the Machine

We are all bloody sinners regardless of what we tell ourselves. And we all get our comeuppance sooner or later. But is it us who receive it? Or are the innocent those who suffer for our sins. Christ has done his share of suffering, and the Man was clearly good, yet He died on the Cross for us. What does that tell you?

Life is a Challenge

Life is a Challenge. You don’t matter much. Get used to its various disappointments. Your birth and death are not the most traumatic episodes of your existence. Losing a loved one is. It reveals your own mortality. You are next.

Darwin Lives On

Featured

Darwin was right all along. We adapt to changing stimuli… or we die. One cannot fight change. In the long run, the Search for Meaning is meant to validate it. Its intrinsic value is part of our genetic legacy. We carry the Mortality-defying spirit of our Ancestors in our allele. We live on because we struggle to adapt. We stop struggling, we die. The Choice is Ours.

On New Beginnings

I was watching this TV show, The Expanse, on Amazon Prime, the other day. It was this scene on top of a Baltimore sky-rise after a cataclysm had flooded it in a radical future that got me thinking. In it, Amos is trying to convince his former partner in crime to leave Earth behind and … Continue reading On New Beginnings

On Natural Born Fighters

A fighter is born not made. I once saw a diminutive man stand up to a giant of a bully. Not once did the man raise his voice. He clearly stated the facts and the bully got out of his establishment. My grandfather taught me the value of principles. One lives and dies by them. One does not change one’s principles. My grandfather taught me family is the most important thing on Earth. One fights and dies protecting one’s family.

On Empathy

Be kind. Be supportive. And don’t add to the total sum misery of humanity. Make your parents proud. Be honest but use diplomacy as much as you can. Be assertive without being a nincompoop. Naked honesty may be expedient but hurting people never is. Rise above the fray. Life is tough. Don’t make it tougher.

Confronting Mortality

Life and Death are Given. Life is meant to be short. Giving life is our duty and privilege. We honour our Dead Parents by moving on. Mortii cu mortii, vii cu vii! Let the dead bury the dead, and let the living be with the living! This is the Meaning of Life.
