Montesquieu was Right
Change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. No one changes their ways just for the heck of it. But if one must change, they’d better do it for the right reasons. Being neutral is a safer bet than adhering to any military alliance. Nobody owes anyone anything. Protection doesn’t come gratis. And sometimes the price is your own existence.
Tariff Wars and ASL
Tariff Wars are not all Bad. Smart countries protect their economies and maximize resource leverage on the world markets. Dumb countries keep digging their burial holes. Intelligent countries make sure nobody looks at them the wrong way so that they can keep their earnings.

On Goals
People who exist purely in the now without a thought to their cultural impact, their historical footprint, and who go out of their way to destroy our legacy should be punished commensurate to their crimes.

Perhaps it is poetic for Humanity to seek her Cosmic Transubstantiation among the Stars where decay is a distant menace, unlike here on Earth where it's an ever-present reality.
The Butterfly Effect Strikes Again
1 in 5 American servicemen is obese. No wonder you can't have a conventional firefight anymore and you have to use ICBMs to fight a war. In Romanian we have a saying “Unde dai si unde crapa!” In short, the law of unintended consequences strikes again.
