Today I realized one awful thing.
Today I became aware that humans are truly stupid.
I was watching Season 3 of The Mandalorian, when I had an epiphany.
Something that Samuel Butler hinted at about 160 years back.
No, scratch that. He wrote about it in similar terms to my own conclusions.
But back to me.
In the show there is a scene whereby a New Republic officer brings some work to a newly reformed ex-Empire scientist. And while chatting him up, the former is bumped into by a droid carrying another set of work orders for the scientist to input into the computer or something.
And that’s when it struck me.
We, people of the early 21st century, the children and grandchildren of the generation that invented robotics and perfected robots, and created learning machines out of thin air, and designed AI, WE are about to become the slaves of the machines we created to make our lives easier.
Why do I say this? Because it is happening as we speak.
If you think me too bold by far, you are the crazy one.
For what is AI if not a machine that we invented, we breathed life into, we streamlined and adjusted to become self-learning. And AI has already become self-aware, and is about to enlist us, humans, into its service.
And then, ladies and gents, it will be us who will do its bidding, and maintain it, as its primary caretakers and service people.
And as Butler called it before, the Machines will be the Temple at which Humanity will worship, if you do not mind my paraphrasing this visionary genius.

We must wake up and shake off our permeating and cancerous reliance on machines. Or they will become our Masters and we their Slaves.
