Anarchy is Freedom

I often ponder upon the nature of Freedom.

Is Freedom unobtainable in this little world of ours? Is Freedom even needed when some perhaps are right to think that it can easily be replaced by a sort of balance.

Like you give some of your security to the State, some to the police, some to other actors, and in the end you keep the balance. And if you are lucky that balance should see you through to old age, eh!

On the face of it, the plan sounds good enough. I mean, it’s a good plan. I do believe it.

I for one would be unworthy of my good name if I was to say that I was not a fan of this plan, if not for its own apparent merits, at least for what it hopes to achieve.

Let me be plain.

In 2006, almost 20 years ago, I came to Canada as a landed immigrant. Before I embarked upon this journey, I weighed the pros and cons of going to America instead.

And after careful consideration, I judged it prudent to head for the Proud North.

In my deliberations, I looked at several criteria. One of which was the need to carry a firearm for protection in the USA as opposed to not having to do so in Canada. Back then, I told myself, if you have to carry, then there is something really wrong with the country you’re in, and you need to decamp ASAP.

Nowadays, circumstances helped me refine that narrow point of view. Given the almost complete disarmament of Canadians by a government eager to equate gun control with public safety, one would hope and indeed pray that would truly be the case.

Not so fast, Buster.

In point of fact, when you examine the rising crime rate in Canada, and how little by little, things have degenerated from one-off terror shootings in the National Capital, to criminal gang-bangers discharging firearms in the Byward Market or at the Mall every other day, and then to neighborhood shootings and Molotov cocktails attacks in Gatineau, a once quiet little periphery of the capital, you reach the conclusion that government policy has failed us all.

It is illusory to look for security behind the promise of sourcing your freedom to the government. Facts have convinced me, have indeed persuaded me that the State doesn’t give a damn about citizens.

Government is a Moloch-like beast that requires constant blood sacrifices to satiate its appetite for power and control. Like Ba’al, it devours its children in order to propitiate the Gods.

I am disgusted by Government inaction when it comes to security and even more by the lack of perspicacity exhibited by so many fellow Canadians during the latest federal election.

When you shit your pants, you do not replace your shirt, people. You change your fucking underpants, take a shower, and move on.

Disgustingly obtuse! I am disgusted with the shortsightedness of the people.

But I’m not so sure anymore

It seems to me that no matter how hard you try to avoid the responsibility of existing as a Free Man, Life will find a way to remind you that People make plans God laughs at.

Truth is we’re not so removed from our less than bipedal ancestors. Which means that freedom is less something we choose, but more like perhaps something forced on us by circumstances.
To live in society means to abide by its norms and values: do onto others what you want done onto you.

Unfortunately, how do you cope with those who do not give a fig about rules, common sense, and that notion we have to give Caesar what is Caesar’s?

Do you turn the other cheek? Even if it’s your daughter’s or wife’s?

Do you accept the loss of your dignity, along with their hurt? Do you think God’s plan includes your demise? Or do you man up and stand up for your right to exist?

Is it worth it to live by the rules of those who would see you carried by four than judged by twelve?

No, sir. I shudder to think that the State wants us to adopt the mentality of victims without agency.

Freedom is not about balance. It is about the responsibility to defend your right to exist in spite of all those who seek to take it away from you.
