Life is about Belonging

What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

I wish I had come up with this realization on my own.

Alas, I read about it in a book. Not even a very good book. Just a book.

One of the most important things one can find in life is meaning.

Think about it.

What matters the most to you? What makes you who you are? What gives you purpose? What drives you to attain those life goals of yours?

What?

It’s meaning.

That’s right.

Meaning is the great motivator of men and in general for every action not borne of bare necessity there is an underlying reason.

But what exactly is meaning, naked meaning, without that flavour, which makes it palatable, that inescapable shade that gives it color binding its owner to their destiny?

Meaning is nothing without a sense of belonging.

People need to belong to something greater than their own individual shell. And no, I ain’t talking communism here.

No. Men and women must be an active part to a greater entity, party, family, tribe, undertaking, team, project, venture, for their life’s meaning to be revealed to them.

Nothing ever happens in a vacuum. Nothing.

Not stars, not planets, not galaxies, not life, not people, not ideas, not even change can happen in a bubble.

Everything happens when things, from atoms to people, congregate towards one another.

Meaning cannot exist outside a sense, a perception at least of belonging.

The lucky ones are those who get to experience the real deal.

Simulacra is a powerful motivator but the genuine article moves mountains across the galaxy.
