Nature vs. Nurture

I used to be a firm believer of the dichotomic nature of humanity.

This principle is otherwise known as Nature vs. Nurture.

Its meaning is very clear. We are all born from a set of parents endowed with certain genetic traits, all of which are passed on to us, their offspring. We may wrongly assume that not all paternal/maternal traits are transmitted because we only see some flourish and reach adulthood in ourselves.

In reality, all genes are passed to us. Some recessive traits only emerge 1 or 2 or 3 generations later, when the eye of the beholder may not recollect the why and wherefore.

But all allele, the entire paternal DNA sequence is transcribed on the new genetic coil that is us.

Nurture is secondary in that it reinforces that which has already been copied, replicated mitochondrially into the new exponents.

Nurture cannot defeat Nature because the latter is the Eternal Principle, the only true chance at immortality we ever get.

And nothing on this Earth, in our Cosmos, can replace or deny the immutability of our Species’ need to Replicate Itself.

We are Natural Born Replicators, Copiers, mere Exponents of our Ancestors, whose dream we accomplish not just by existing but also by surviving, procreating, multiplying and starting anew a process that is meant to carry our Legacy, our genetic inheritance into the Future.

There is no NOW.

There is only the PAST.

The only thing that matters is the FUTURE.

Can anyone point at NOW and define it for me? I am too simple to understand the concept of Present Time.

But perhaps I am not alone.

Now, (or about now) before you go back to your lives, I would like to know your thoughts on this subject.

The question before you is this: Do you believe in Nature or in Nurture? Do you believe your Genetic Path is preordained or that an Outside Process can change it?

Leave your feedback in the comments. Have a splendid day, folks!
