Materialism v. Meaning

How important is spirituality in your life?

I hate the word ‘spirituality’.

It’s so imprecise. It can mean anything… and nothing.

Why not be precise?

Let’s take ‘materialism’ for instance.

It covers the whole spectrum of the material world.

It also lacks precision but it doesn’t need it, now, right?

Materialism is unfocused by design. That’s good.

Tangible things don’t need too much definition after all.

If you want to talk about anything other than the material stuff, why not go with ‘meaning’?

Matter exists outside the observer. Or better put regardless of whether there is an observer or not.

For everything else, there is an absolute need for a beholder. If there is none, there is no meaning, no ‘spirituality’.

Material things deteriorate, they wither and dissolve into nothingness.

Like so.

Meaning exists outside the bounds of time.

The greatest single paradox out there is this.

Matter is finite in time and space. Meaning is infinite and dictated by fleeting mortal beings.
