Patriotism is the refuge of a scoundrel.
What can it mean to be patriotic?
To believe your birth merits your devoting your life to serving the artificial construct that needs you to sacrifice it on Its higher Altar: your Homeland.
To imagine your country was better than another.
To forget the reason you’re born: to be a link in the great chain of custody called Evolution.
As a matter of fact, patriotism requires the permanent and total suspension of disbelief. It is a negative feeling chaining the individual to the state’s bandwagon.
It is a form of mental bondage that brings no positive effects to its bearer.
