The less people speak of you, the happier you will be.
Nothing good ever comes from the attention of your peers.
If people talk about you and it’s all good stuff, people will applaud it at first, but after a while people will become jealous. No good.
If people talk about you and it’s bad, other people will pay attention to that, and your reputation will suffer. No good either.
Whereas, if people don’t talk about you, they forget about you, or do not mention you, what can that do to you? How can that be bad or good for you?
They say Ignorance is Bliss. Not sure this is always the case but, in this instance, I have to agree with the notion.
When nobody cares about you, you may feel left out. But all you have to do is say something, reach out, and they’ll notice you, all right. And then, you may end up regretting it.
When you are centre of attention, all eyes are on you, and everything you do, will be dissected in tiny slivers of truths, half-truths, and outright lies. And then you’ll wish they never knew you were born.
Public scrutiny is a messy affair, ripe with risk, and subject to rapid escalation.
No, siree. I should hope people don’t talk about me much. It’s safer for my skin to be left to my own devices.
Famous people have a tendency to become infamous somehow. People are Jealous Bastards.
