I wonder if you knew this ancient Jewish saying.
Me I love it. Why is that, you say? Easy. The Jews realized that if they were to survive in their turbulent little corner of the world, they’d have to change with the times or die.
Most people do not realize this. But Israel is the litmus test of the world. If it endures, then that means the world has learned its lesson. If it dies, then that means the world must learn the lesson by retaking the test.
The last time the world has failed the test, the year was 1945. Now, most people remember from history that was the year the good guys won the war. I disagree.
That was the year when humanity failed its ethics class. I do not give a damn about the war’s outcome. People died because politicians wanted to save lives by doing nothing to prevent a war from starting, in the first place. Sixty (60) million people lost their lives, and even more people were crippled or got wounds that never healed, because some shmucks decided to play it safe and give in to a bunch of tyrants because they thought it safer to play it by ear.
But people, lots of people died horrible deaths, civilians, and the military alike. The Allied Powers wanting to avoid the bloodletting of another world war, intimated to the Axis Powers that they’d agree to divide the world, up to a certain point, between them.
The problem with that math is a simple one. The powers that be ignored the human factor completely. They decided to play craps with the lives of entire peoples, nations even, and all because they wanted to save their own people’s lives.
In the end, everybody lost, winners and losers alike, including what today would be callously called collateral victims, or unintended victims: the Jews and others.
Now, the Jewish people have never asked to be put to the test the way they were. Neither did the Armenians or others like them before, and even today.
But fact is, that even nowadays, mass murder and genocide occur daily everywhere all at once.
And sometimes unspeakable crimes against humanity happen in tandem, to peoples living side by side, Israeli and Palestinian alike. The questions on everyone’s lips nowadays are who deserves the land of Israel or Palestine, and who is the worst criminal in the region, in short who is to blame for the chaos (Fauda) and who is innocent.
These are all incomplete determinations of the bigger picture.
What would be the option for the Jewish people if Israel had to be given to the Arabs? Who would take them? Having tasted the sweet taste of sovereign statehood, which nation would accept to go back to the status of a dispersed people living in a segmented diaspora on five continents? Would you do that to the British, or the Irish, or the French, or the Spaniards, or the Romanians? Would they even accept that?
And assuming Jews accepted to be relegated to the status pre-1948, of a stateless people, how long would it take for them to become the butt of more than mere jokes and silly platitudes about their money-making skills, blood libels, and all that jazz?! How long before jokes and anti-Semitic remarks turned violent? How long before Kristallnacht redivivus?

If the Arab world hates them now, and everybody else treated them with condescension at best, and pure hatred at worst, in the past, would you care to lay bets on the future of the Jewish people being brighter in a stateless hypothetical paradigm or in its current forever war against the Muslim world?
Me, I’d lay all my money on Israel surviving as a state or worst-case scenario, taking down not just the Middle East, but the world in its entirety, with it if it ever lost the War.
Like the Good Ole’ Judge Samson who brought down the Temple of Dagon on his enemies the Philistines, to take revenge for them gouging out his eyes, so will Israel do too if it ever suffers defeat.

Quiz: Samson is betrayed by his lover Delilah, who is sent by the Philistines to entice him, and who cuts his hair while sleeping, and turns him over to the Philistines. They proceed to gouge out his eyes and force him to grind grain in a mill at a city on a Strip that has garnered much notoriety as of late. What is the name of the city?
Hint: Go biblical, folks, go biblical. NKJV version of the Bible is your friend.
So, all the armchair strategists and tacticians de merde à la con, who predict Palestine’s victory, which must necessarily mean Israel’s defeat, they can all go engage in sexual oral congress with their own appendages, for all they know or care about the fate of the world.
